Our loose-leaf hojicha is grown and roasted in Kirishima, Kagoshima. Roasting the green tea leaves creates a warm, toasted aroma and a smooth, mellow cup with gentle sweetness and very little bitterness. Comforting yet refreshing, it is an easy tea to enjoy throughout the day or alongside a meal.

This organic sencha comes from Kirishima, Kagoshima, one of Japan’s. Volcanic soil, clear mountain water, and mist that settles over the fields help create teas with distinctive character and aroma.
Tea Details:
- Origin: Kirishima, Kagoshima, Japan
- Cultivar: Blend of Saemidori, Tsuyuhikari, Yabukita
- Cultivation: Organically grown (no chemical pesticides)
Brewing Instructions:
- Tea: 4 g (about 2 teaspoons)
- Water: 7 oz / 200 ml
- Temperature: 175°F / 80°C
- Steep: 30 seconds
Pour the the water over the leaves, then strain completely into your cup. Using slightly cooler water brings out the sencha’s natural sweetness and umami while keeping bitterness balanced. Re-steep the leaves and adjust the steeping time to taste.
How to store
Storing the tea in the refrigerator or freezer keeps its freshness and flavor longer. Keep away from heat, humidity and strong odors.
